Understanding Simple Perspective.

When I was writing this post, I deleted what I wrote around five times. These thoughts have been going throughout the week. Going on... well I've lost count, so I've decided to screw having a "good" post and I just... kept it simple.

Enjoy.

Ice T in Law and Order had a line that was very profound. When I first heard it I was surprised at how good the line actually was.

"He didnt see you like everyone else did, he saw you like God saw you."

I'm not sure a lot of people see people like that. It might sound hard because, well I mean we're doing something that God does afterall... but is it really that hard? All we really need to do is throw away our misconceptions and assumptions about people.

Instead of seeing that one kid as weird and nerdy, look at him like he's just a guy that has his own way of doing things and he/she has a passion.

Sounds hard, but its not impossible.

After all, wouldnt you want someone to look at you that way?

We emmerse ourselves in unnecessarily complex things.

Or at least, it seems that way.

Often times we over think the way things are done. Or maybe public opinion. There is always the lingering "what if..." and "I'll look stupid/weird/awkward" in petty situations. We draw this "I dont wanna do this because I'll feel _____ and so these guys will think ______ so next time we go ______ they..."

I remember a friend of mine telling me that people dont really go "Hey I remember you from ____." I dont remember why, but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with it being awkward and something else.

I might be using the wrong word(s) (I do that a lot) but... I guess people over complicate things.

In the words of my AP Music Theory teacher...

"Keep it simple stupid."

"No one understands me."

I dont know why I hate that statement so much.

Maybe its because often times, the person who says that wont even bother to elaborate. Well if youre not telling me...whats there to understand? Someone else might be, but I aint a mind reada.

Or maybe because its untrue in general. We all feel things. No matter how you cut it, you feel some kind of raw emotion, be it sadness, anger, confusion or anything else. Maybe you just dont feel heard, or youre struggling with some personal issues.

Who cant relate to that?

So if you feel this way, go talk to someone.

They understand.

We all do.
